This is a beginners guide to Autodesk Inventor. It will take the user through the fundamentals of CAD work. It covers everything from creating a sketch, making a part and an extrusion, creating an assembly, and creating the drawings for manufacturing. This does not cover every aspect of Autodesk Inventor, however it does cover enough to get students and mentors on the team to start doing CAD work. The assembly chapter has one exercise where it says "Find these files on the hard drive". These will not exist on anyone elses computer, so take any piece from before that is a plate with holes in it, place it 4 times in the assembly and continue with the exercise. The point of that exercise is to learn how specific constraints work.

R2K2D2Hey CD Users and FIRSTers. This is an Autodesk Inventor Users Guide that takes the beginner user through Inventor and teaches them the fundamentals to begin doing CAD work. It is the result of hours and hours work, so please give me any comments or suggestions for improving it.
Thanks,

That taught me everything that I learned in PLTW over the last 3 months! Nice job simplifying such a complicated program.
