The Taigene motor is made by Taigene and Taigene donated them to the FIRST kit, but, the motor is USED in a Power Sliding Door application by Delphi (for Ford or GM or one of our other PSD customers, I don't know which).

The Taigene motor is made by Taigene and Taigene donated them to the FIRST kit, but, the motor is USED in a Power Sliding Door application by Delphi (for Ford or GM or one of our other PSD customers, I don't know which).
In any case, we (Delphi) created the spec. But... ...we were not really concerned with use by FIRST teams when we did so. We were more concerned with making sure the motors worked in our customer's vehicles.
This leads to some head scratching by many FIRSTers: Why 10.5V? Why the range for Stall Torques, Free Speeds, etc.?
So... ... I begged Delphi's Power Sliding Door Tech Expert (Artur Ostrowski from Team #469 -- many of you know him) to boil it all down to something we can sink our teeth into.
If you know Artur, you know that nothing comes without a disclaimer so here it is:
