I thought some people would be interested in seeing what the 1992 game was all about. Attached is the origional game manual from 1992 converted into pdf format. And YES it is only 10 pages!

I particularly loved this one item in the kit...

coastertuxWow! That was fascinating. This was my first year in FIRST and did not realize how far the competition has come (and how much more it costs
).

Wow... The "no tape for structural purposes rule" has been around since '92.

Joe LambieWow...all I can say. I am always looking out for old games, and well they do not get much older than this. One of the more intereting things I saw was the use of corn as a part of the playing field surface. I can only imagine how that would turn out now, at the least a big mess ( but a very fun one!). Dez, thanks for posting this, and if you have anymore feel free to toss those up too
.

Francis-134Wow thanks for posting this dude. I've been wondering if there was a copy of this floating around somewhere.
I love this: Digital Printer (do not throw away)

geeknerd99"If a projectile is used, it must have a frontal area greater than 10 square inches"...
And you can't spray oil all over the opponent's robots, and you can operate the robot by having it react to the corn, the walls and the air, and after competition, your robot becomes property of FIRST. So much for off-season events
.
Given the smaller size of the robots, I'd say that Maize Craze was more like non-destructive Battlebots than today's FIRST robotics. But good find though, since I've only seen a few pictures of Maize Craze and knew only that it involved a playing field of corn.

Yeah... I've been wonder if there was a copy out there and how long it would take to get put on here. What else could you do with a t-shirt? Wait... never mind... I retract my previous statement and realized this is FIRST and we can do anything with anything.

. do they still include the small parts catalog in the kits, and if not, when did they stop including them?
