Barebones spreadsheets for processing GearScout data.
Put the contents of the zip file in the folder C:Users(your username)Scouting 2016
INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEAMS USING THE "SAVE TO FILE" OR "TEXT MESSAGE" SAVE METHODS:
1. Download the latest version of the zip file "Gearscout for Text Files"
2. If you are using the text message method, copy and paste text messages into a text file. Each message should have its own line. If you are using the text file method, copy and paste all text files into one file. Notes and Match data should be stored in different files.
3. Use the "Import from text file" tool in excel to import the text files into their respective sheets.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEAMS USING THE DATABASE SAVE METHOD:
*note: we have not yet released a system for database extraction. Expect this soon.*
1. Run the included Java program, which will extract the requested data from the server. A batch file will automatically start, which removes unnecessary characters from the database files, and creates backups of the files.
2. Two files will appear in the folder- MATCHDATA-IMPORTABLE.csv and NOTESDATA-IMPORTABLE.csv. These files already have headers, making it easier to tell what each column of data means. Import these into a spreadsheet of your choice.
Note that the order of data in the text file is different than the order used in the exported database files. Therefore, spreadsheets made for the text file/text message export versions are not compatible with the Amazon database exports.
