Nice looking, easy to use Google Sheets based Gantt Chart scheduling tool created by Team 4904: Bot-Provoking for the 2017 Build Season.
We thought most Gantt Chart software was either ugly, clunky, or expensive, so we made one that was pretty, simple, and free!
Usage is simple: select subteam, lead student, task, and enter the Start and End Date. Duration and the square cells will populate automatically based on your choices. Square cells contain a special formula to autofill them, if you insert a new row make sure this formula is copied over.
Subteams are customized for our team's organizational structure, but you can customize by Selecting A4:A91, Data-->Validation. Colors can be modified in Conditional Formatting.

Looks familiar...I've been working on an excel sheet that's quite similar. Hmm. can't post an attachment in this forum, and it's not polished enough to be a white paper.
Anyway, other simple things I've done you may want to consider:
I have a column for "supporting" subteams for each task, then a calculated one which concatenates the lead and supporting groups. Then, you can filter on that combined column with "Contains" to limit the view to tasks which require just that group. I also have a subteam called "whole" which fills the combined cell with a concatenated list of all the subgroups so that everyone's limited view will still have milestones like kickoff, bag day, and key decisions.
I have columns which display the day-of-week of the start and end for each task.
My color coding is different - For non-task days, I have white and light gray alternating on a weekly scale. For task days, I have colors coded to the number of hours we plan to work that day; closed shop is palest, 6+ hours is brightest. (the number of hours is in a row just below the dates).
And OBTW, I've been selecting all of the "left side" cells and doing a custom sort, first on start date and second on end date to rearrange things when something is added or modified - this would be A4:F13 as your google sheet is now.

grem110Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback. Weird that the .gsheet doesn't work—do you have Google Drive for Desktop?
If you're having trouble, the browser link should work.

For Content, this 2004 file from 365 is still very relevant. I use it as a template and I often refer people to it if they ask for a build season schedule. moe365.org/moementum2004/RobotBuild.xls
