We built this in our spare time - it uses a gps to not only work on the field but find the stadium! After our regional, we'll start it on its way to Houston and it will be there when we arrive.

AJ QuickThat is pretty interesting.
How does it use the GPS to know where it is, and what does it do with the GPS data? Does it have the ability to travel from 1 point to the other based on what the GPS says.
Sounds rather cool to me!!

reminds me of Irobots roomba. Looks very cool. I wonder if FIRST will ever allow us to use GPS locating on our robots during the matches. If they put a gps on the goals also and the robot could use all that data... then real automation would be easy.

K. SkontrianosI'm afraid it doesn't work that way. GPS won't work inside a building. Even if you could track a goal inside a building(which is a bit more complicated than just taping a GPS unit to a goal), getting there still isn't easy or quick. Go to our GPS robot website for more details. By the way, we're updating the machine so that you can drive it remotely, online.

Heh. I want to see it drive to Houston. Even if you had enough battery power in that thing to get it there...deer barely even make it across a road
