We were kinda bored, so we decided to spraypaint our crate.

Seeing as you posted on this board, you must use it. In the previous weeks, many threads have started about team slogans and claiming them so it does not interfere with another team's. Well, in many, I posted up that our team was using 'All Your Bins Are Belong To Us' along with others. It's also my custom title and in my signature. Please make sure that your robot does not have the slogan on it as it may cause an uproar from my teammates if we are ever to meet at a regional. Thank you.

... oh yeah, and our team color is red (Code Red Robotics... everything in Ithaca is 'Big Red' or 'Little Red', etc) like the color in my signature and the color you spray painted your crate with.

Alex1072Its not even our slogan or anything, we just thought itd be something funny to stick on our crate. And we bought the red spraypaint before we even thought about what to stick on our crate.

Brandon MartusI, Brandon, reserve the letter B. Nobody can use the letter B on the forums in a post subject, message, or otherwise without express written permission from me.
Thanks.
[/sarcasm]
This is a pretty argument silly.

I read this earlier and I thought that it was funny.
Yan.. trust me, no one on our team is going to care
It's just a color and a slogan.
.. but while we're at it, I reserve the letter "e." What now?!

It's not supposed to be anything big. I just wanted to mention that there were topics to help stop teams from having the same names or slogans and that our team chose it first. Saying that you claim B, Brandon, makes no sense when I was pointing out a slogan (hmm, wonder what trademark laws are)... I mentioned that it was also a COICIDENCE that it was in the color red, which happens to be the big color around here due to Cornell University (whose ... ahem... lawyers want us to put TM on everything with Cornell on it).
20-02-2003 18:47
Ben MitchellNot using the letter B, I could probably work around it.
But "E"! That's the most common letter in the English language! And it's a vowel!
This post contains 1 "B" and 11 "E"s
I reserve the letter "N"
C'mon guys, chill a little.
In fact, the original phrase: ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US is hardly copyrighted, and if you aren't a PC gamer, you probably wouldn't get it.
What game does that come from, anyway? No one uses it in Day of Defeat, the game I play.

I hearby reserve the right to any logos that contain a gear/cog/sprocket as part of the design. After all, my team name is Cogsquad so we obviously have first dibs on it.
While I'm at it, my parents just reserved the name "Rob" so don't ever think of naming a new baby that. It's mine.
I think I'll lay claim to the phrase "where's the drill?" too, so please don't ever say these words in the pits without my express permission.
It's just a freaking slogan, and not even an original one at that.

heh, I just have to contribute to this ludicrous argument..
I reserve the prefix "Techno-" so any team name and or robot name that isn't ours cant be used.
and Yan, you really have no claim to it until the © is listed next to it and its registered to your team..

I, Ken Leung, reserve the letters K and L. Nobody can use the letters K and L on the forums in a post subject, message, or otherwise without express written permission from me.
Thanks.

But come on... You don't want people to use Red? Code Red Robotics used to be cool...

IainI reserve the exclusive rights to using aluminum, wood, and steel as construction materials on the robot. All robots who show up at regionals with such materials incorporated into them will be disqualified immediately.

Gadget470I reserve the name Brandon, as it is mine. Mr. Martus, you must change your name immediatly in correspondance to Section AQ36SM.
(if you know what AQ36SM is.. you get a star.)
And soezgg: please remember the rules you agreed to. You are representing your team, so I'd suggest shutting up before you get people angry with you.
Past comments can be a killer. There was a team 3 years ago who brought their principal to nationals. He went to a certain team, and if I'm not mistaken it was Chief Delphi, and pointed out flaws in their bot and claimed "We are going to crush you guys, what a stupid mistake" .. or something to that effect.
Well, that team ended up being seeded for alliance picking. About 15 teams in a row declined to be their alliance partner because of one person's actions that were not in agreement with the rest of the team's feelings.
Basically, take your own advice, shut up. People say things and they get taken out of context, which I assume for the most part is the problem with this thread.

Wow, all of you are being quite childish in arguing about claiming letters. I didn't claim anything. I just pointed out that our team posted in many threads hoping to be able to use the slogan exclusively. If team 1072 wants to use it, what can I do; JACK DIDDLY SQUAT. GEE FRIGGIN WHIZ. Many of you don't realize that and seem to think that I care so much about it. Pointing out that it was red was called A COINCIDENCE. Perhaps take some advice from soezgg. He's just annoyed as I am though I won't go around mocking any of you.

Alex1072This should end right now. It is NOT our slogan, it is just a coincidence. Just let the topic die.

The Lucas
"All Your Bins Are Belong to Us" (Teams 1072 and 639) and "All Your Stack Are Belong to Us" (i dont know the teams, but i have seen it in the forums) are not the first parodies of the now cliche phrase.
Last year, my team posted "ALL YOUR GOAL ARE BELONG TO US" on our Light Board at every competition. I am guessing we werent the first team to use that parody either, maybe just the first to broadcast it on a light board.
So stop "All Your Slogan Are Belong to Us" policy, fighting for rights to slogans about a dying fad based on a poorly translated Genesis game. Maybe one team should adopt the more accurate parody, "All Your Bin Are Belong to Us", since "Base" is not plural and the inagreement with "Are" is half the joke.

Ok, I think most of us agree that this discussion stops right here right now. No need to argue over a catchy phrase or a slogan. Don't bash people just because its easy to do. Remember, people talk the same way you talk to you with. Don't expect to be treated with respect when you don't respect others.
I promise in a few months all of you won't even remember this! Unless of course you printed this thread onto paper and framed it on the wall... Which is your right of course. (j/k!
