Go to Post I volunteered to be the person responsible for the electronics and raised my hand before realizing that I have had almost no electronics experience. I hope our robot turns out alright... - Blue_Mist [more]

Team #461 Robot 2003

This is the front side of our robot with a few parts blocked out but if you think about the picture a bit you could probably figure out what we are trying to keep secret for a few more weeks.

I've already stated I think it's an orientation flipper for boxes. Or just cans of mountain dew sitting in front of your bot that got blurred out in photoshop

The first thing that i though of when i saw the blurred parts was, tennis balls?.. why did they put and blur out tennis balls in that pic...the only thing that i can even think of that would be there would be the sensors, which might explain the yellowish color.. but knowing that you tend to "photoshop" all your pics the color could of just been placed there...

hehehe...
its not for orientation...
the color is an indication...but then i changed the color and differenced clouded over the area a bunch of times before i blured and mosaiced...your right i love photoshop and it keeps me entertained.

No they aren't tennis balls...
We had green drawer liner over the things in question when we took some of the pictures which is why some are just mosaiced with a greenish tint...

we have some videos i have been debating putting up...but they definately just give it away and its fun to see what people are guessing!

I'm thinking suctioncups. I'm seeing alot of pnuematic parts on that robot so surley its a suction cup.

we use 2 pneumatics on our arm mechanism...and we have another solenoid on the robot for a possible 3rd was going to be put on the arm but that was scrapped when we tore off part of it and made it alot simpler.... but wait that still leaves 2 pistons that could be used...

hmm..
but no these are not suction cups where the blobs are.

well established. I think thats the first time anyone has ever called us that. We still feel like rookies some times, but we are getting there. thanks amanda!

Chicago is going to be awsome...so many teams i cant wait to check out....

Indiana rookie teams RULE!

Unread Rookie team?

This team is definitely not a rookie team anymore. I had the privilege of seeing this team in action and they are going to be solid this year and be a great ally to whoever they get matched up with. Fear RowdyPete!!!
Good job AngryDwarf. Keep up the good work with the photos and the mystery.

the first thing i notice: the radio is mounted on the outside of the bot in the front, very interesting placement

How come the drill motor in the left side of the pic is not level? I'm thinking the wheels tilt up when it lifts off the ground. The blurred out areas are propellers.

lol no they are tilted because we had issues leveling off our drive motors....
Maybe if onizuka see's this thread he'll post a more indepth response to this question because i think he was one of the ones who fabricated those plates they are mounted on...one side tilts up one tilts down....its permanently like that and the plates are just angled... nothing fancy.

Thanks for the kind words braman! its great to hear from you and thanks for the support! We better see you show up in houston!
