It looks to me like its desgined to knock down all the boxes on top of the ramp, while "Stealing" the stack that starts in the center. And protecting that stack for the rest of the match. Am i close?

how can that be? It looks to me like the pushing side is opposite the grabbing side.

how well can those wings stand up to any collision with another robot? and it would make sense if they pushed them the opposite way it looks, you don't want to be impailing any bins

why won't you be attending the VCU regional this year?

As for why we won't be attending VCU, it was just simply too far away. This year we decided to attend the Chesapeake Regional, since is is about 2-4 hours closer to home. That was quite simply the only reason. Last year, we did have a great time at VCU, and it was a great venue, and the competition was fierce. However, it was just too far away.

We chose to attend the Chesapeake Bay regional instead of the VCU Regional this year. Chesapeake is a little closer for us than VCU.

You will be able to see GeroniMOE compete at the Chesapeake Regional, the Philadelphia Alliance Regional, and the National Championship Competition.

And that's what happens when you have the 4th highest number of people registered for the same forums! Not the time for Joe3's post and mine! That just proves that we all think alike!

Nice bot (I can"t wait til my team gets some experience so we can build robots that look like they were designed with an idea as pretty as that in mind). As to the robot, it looks like it can do about 50 things (not including the secret functions (like taking over the world)) so I have no hope of guessing. What I am interested in knowing is why those boxes in the background are green!? As proven on this page, the only advertised colors of the Sterilite 1730 boxes are Glacier and Desert. How do you get boxes that are your team color?

The boxes we have are the Sterilite 1730 boxes, and they are Glacier in color. The funny thing with Sublime Green is that whenever you take a picture of our robot, there is so much Green that the camera doesn't pick up other pictures as well as it usually does. Either that or the way your eye picks up the Glacier color verses the Sublime Green makes them look lighter. The only other explanation could be that your monitor is going MOE. We got most of the monitor manufacturers in the world to make the monitors start to go green when they go bad. Just our way of doing some "community outreach". (You can cut the sarcasm with a knife -- can you feel it!?)

Anywho, the entire purpose of all of that is that the bins we have are Glacier in color, and it is an optical illusion that causes them to look green.

the chesapeake regional this year is going to be a great time.

Seeing "GeroniMOE " stack 11 boxes is going to be interesting and going to a brand ne regional on a Naval Base will be cool too...

Good Luck, See-ya there....

DEATH TO THE RAMP BLOCKERS!

Just kidding. Looks like 4 wheel drive with both the Chips and Drills doubled up?

Good luck!

You seem to have a high center of gravity, and much of it placed over your back axle, have you tested that on the ramp? Our bot has a semi-similar setup and we have to worry about falling backwards going up the ramp the wrong way.

Can't you recognize a Photoshop fake yet?

Actually, Sterilite makes the bins in many additional colors during the holiday season. You just needed to buy them earlier. We seriously were looking for MOE green, but had to settle for Evergreen. Luckily, WalMart had enough for a complete set of green.

Shipping a robot without testing it, now that is something the Miracle Workerz would never do. That would mean we would have to fix all the bugs in the pit like last year... wait I mean like I saw other teams do last year, our bot was flawless (ya thats the ticket).

Center of Gravity was a major concern from Day One. That is how GeroniMOE got the working name "Tippy the Wonder MOEbot". However, we designed the bot with an impressively low cg and it hasn't been a problem. GeroniMOE has preformed some pretty crazy maneuvers (mostly during autonomous testing) without tipping over.
