Unread Actually not...

I remember standing around the field waiting for a match and I saw 2 tie matches, both were actually around the same time too.

My old team (330) had 2 ties in the qualifying rounds in newton and was one bin away from a tie in the elimination rounds. Match 2, Match 128, and Quarterfinal 2, match 2.

There's more to this story than meets the eye, and I guess since I was driving during the round, I am as good as any to tell it.

We played this match, but right after autonomous ended, both us (624) and our partner (651) were disabled until 1:15, as if the red button had been pressed during the autonomous for both of our robots. Of course, they weren't. The people on the field decided to replay the match. 912 happened to bring a 2nd battery, so they spent 10 minutes replacing it. When we restarted the match, we had a stack of 4 on our side, and 7 bins in our zone. We saw a stack of 2 on their side, but assumed they didn't have 14 bins, and thus both us and our ally went to the top, our partner not able to stay up there. If we knew this would have been the score, we would've knocked their bins down.

However, I think the score was VERY appropriate for the match, as our opponents had won the match the first time, but due to problems on the field disabling our robot.

292 & 378 vs. 224 & 447 tied 77 to 77 during the first Quarterfinal at Newton...so they all ended up with 154 EPs for that match.

IN OUR QUARTERFINALS ROUND ON GALILEO OUR ALLIANCE LOST THE FIRST MATCH AND IN THE SECOND I THOUGHT WE HAD ONE IT, AND WE DISCOURAGED TO SEE THAT THE MATCH WAS A TIE

Same thing with the Bomb Squad. We experienced our first tie in Curie's Semifinal 1.2. We also lost our first match, so that was the end for us. Ultimately disappointing knowing that one bin could have had it go either way, but there's nothing to do about it.

Thats right ours still beats all, because we got the tie during the replay of the match, of which we had already dominated. i was really dissapointed too, because normally there are not supposed to be any replays, and FIRST just had to realize that they had the other alliance unplugged.

oh well it happens, just glad to be able to go to the Nats
