to much free time

Anybody try to make one of these things this big before.


This is what happen when you have free time on your hands while everybody else is working on the robot

If I recall I think it makes little "lightning bolts" or at least some good size sparks.

It is a generator, and when charged to a capacitor it can generate over 20,000 volts. Pretty cool.

To much free time!?!?! Nah, This is 3 months old now i belive. Carpentry just completed the stand to hold it friday, mind you it has 0 nails or screws in it.

A Wimshurst Machine (also known as a Whimhurst machine) is an electrical generator that preceeded van de Graaf generators, and was used to produce extremely high potentials. Lots of fun when connected to a pair of Leyden jars to store a very high charge.
