1123's robot

This is our robot, mostly finished. We still need to mount the grabbers, hooks and pnuematic cylinders, but then it should be operational. We are going to be using the arm to hang from the bar, herd balls, hook the mobile goal, and manipulate the big ball. The arm has a total length of 10.5 ft. Questions and comments are welcome.

how are you planning on herding the balls? are you going to use your arm? those balls are very grippy - if you get one caught in between those skids, you will ride up on top of it in a heartbeat.

The arm will be completely retracted and those grabbers ride right above the floor. The frame is also low enough that we couldn't get a ball to ride up during testing

aye, I thought we might have issues with ball hearding...as well as a few others. However the way we build the skids, they really won't ride up onto a ball...like Andy said, we tried and were not able to get the robot to ride up on balls. We'l also be implementing a bar grabbing device as an adon to the arm. That arm can ull somethign like 600 pounds...it's awesome.
