Tom Bottiglierithe hopper kind of looks reminiscant (spelling?) of your 2002 national championship bot. Nice job guys, cant wait to be your alliance partners in NJ and UTC
26-02-2004 23:34
JVNFrom what I've heard, another strong competitor from 173. We won't be making it to UTC, but hopefully I'll get the chance to see it at Nats.
Good Luck,
John
PS - Thanks for Joel...

we'll see you there. Must have been a late night at your practice field last night, with you guys just starting to take a crack at autonomous. Oh wait, that's right, you guys finished and went to bed just about 6 hours before we finally kicked the bucket. oh well, it looks good, we'll have to see you guys at NJ. hope you prepared for us, the one and only official Team RAGE Wannabe.

Rage must have been really tired coming down to the ship wire....
They accidentally posted a picture of a previous years bot.
Maybe after they get some sleep they could post a pic of this years'.

hahahahahahahahahaha.
did anyone notice that they were doin extremely well at the UTC scrimmage using only last years robot?
27-02-2004 07:16
Jones571yea with last years bot they were able to win the scrimmage and manipulate the big balls

Yes this is it. Our 2004 bot. And that picture was not of a complete bot. We won't have a true picture of our robot until next week probably becuase it was shipped without having a picture taken of it done. And yes we love our rollers.

Hey last years was different. And this year we have a new drive train so we are making more and more changes.
27-02-2004 19:57
Jones571I think rages modo should be "if it aint broke don't fix it" and judging by there record I don't think they have to fix much.

Well I am not sure if it is really a drive train come to think of it but we are running a 6 wheel base. As you can tell I am not the most technically inclined person.

Jones571they are running 6 of the 6 inch skyway tiers they doubled them up in the middle and the back. they are running a basic trani with just drill motors. great for pushing power and by lowering the middle axles just a little it has greatly improved there turning
*scary i know more about there robot then they do, maybe they need to make us pay rent we are at there facility way to much

Like I said I know nothing really about technical stuff. I am just around the engineers enough while they are building that I get a general jist of it. Were we build is in the same room as our new CNC machine at one of the high school's so I usually get stuck deburring etc. And yes I love dew

Hey, just because Jon doesn't know about the drive train doesn't mean we all don't. Yes it's 6 wheels, using only the drills, no atwoods this year. Again two speeds, blah blah blah. Yes corey, you're at our facility a LOT, but that's only because we love you. We build our robot @ our high school, but don't pay janitors, we just go when other people are there (that's the one of the reasons we like wrestlers
they practice all the time) Also, the 2 rubber bands are of the rollers so they don't get streched and there are no motors on the basket yet. The basket isn't the same as 02, but looks similar in the picture, once i get better picture of the robot i'll be sure to post them, but we were REALLY tight on time, so this was the only shot we have when Jon snuck into the machine shop during school. The arm that sticking up DOES come down to fit for the begining of the matches, and it extends to about 11 feet.
That's all i can think of right now.
And no Jon, you only deburr cuz we pin you down and make you, you whined and complained so much we almost put duct tape on your mouth :-p
29-02-2004 00:18
bush173yea thats true, he even had to go through a little training thing just to learn how to deburr. he just likes playing with the sprockets

I think the arm weighs a little more than that, not sure, but it fully extends to 11 feet
29-02-2004 12:36
bush173the arm weighed about 20 lbs when we still had the 2X grabbers, but we needed to save weight so off thay went along with around 6 lbs, so the arm is almost 15 lbs now

| so will rage not be trying to manipulate the 2x balls at all, or are you planning on astonishing us all as usual by using those innovative skills to come up with a light weight way to do it? |

I'm assuming that this would mean that the previous year's robots would have to be intact...

29-02-2004 22:00
Lisa Rodriguez
If you wanna come over some night, Jake, and make them all work, that's fine BUT
'02 is intact for OBVIOUS reasons
'03 is still running, but kinda broken, actually, i'm not sure, i believe someone fried a transmission, but we can fix that
'01 is at the high school (how much is it when we set of the alarm, $300??)
and I'm pretty sure the '00 bot has been salvaged for parts
We COULD fix them, but it would take time and $$$, but maybe during the offseason........
it's not like we don't have a field
ps-i'm also not sure we have the controls....or programming, but like i said, offseason project....
