are you capable of delivering the balls to the humans or just guiding them to one side of the feild?

That looks awesome, although it seems kinda useless if the balls dont go in the player station.. very pretty though

Look goods. Your the first ball catcher I've seen from LSR. You guys would make a very good partner with our robot lol.

So I have kind of the same question as the previous person. It looks like it guides in the one picture but does it capture and deliver?

But good luck with and it will be good to see you at LSR. It looks like there will be a lot of cool robots down there this year.

It looks like they can store them then deliver. At least by this picture.

I think the strings and flap might control that. Just a guess though.

They posted this pic in here too seems that they open up a flap and let the balls out.

Yes...Look at this pic: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pi...gle&picid=6692

As to the starting position, the arms fold and latch in an up position and PHlappy folds down. You can see here: http://visiblyshaken.net/robotics/ga...eet04/IMG_2014 where one arm of PHlappy is down...at the beginning, they are both like this.

Also, look at this photo of us placing the ball, you can see PHlappy in it's retracted position: http://visiblyshaken.net/robotics/ga...ipparty/cathy1

Originally our intention was to collect all the balls behind a 'trap door' before driving over to the player station and unloading. We had some issues with balls not coming out of the hole cleanly when we did this, however. At some point we got frustrated and tore the stupid flap off before doing a dump. All the balls rolled into the corner in a nice (relativly) neat pile. So yes, we are only a redirector, but it seems to work quite well.

The high side folds out of the way neatly, and the lower side folds away with the help of a little winch. In a perfect run we should be collaped back into our starting configuration before the other teams can get over to our side of the field.
