Technocats gave out these cool cards, so I just had to get some great FIRST people to sign them. This is kind of like the "52 most wanted people in FIRST". I could only fit so many in the picture unfortunately. Thanks to everyone who signed them, and I apologise to all of the great people who didn't get to sign one.

I got tons of signatures on the cool Technocats playing cards. I will award mad props if you can guess all of the names! Have fun deciphering some of them!

that is awesome, we should make some of thoes cards like they made with all the terrorisnts, but put CD usesrs on them or robots.

The only three I couldn't read or guess is the king of clubs, the jack of clubs, and the king of diamonds.

Umm, shouldn't Woody be one of the Aces?

Nope, I'm not in this picture
I happened to draw the Black 3 of clubs, i think. The black #3 is defentally my favorite number ever. I just think that it's very ironic that Amanda Morrison drew the queen of hearts because that isn't the real side of her. She's more like one of the jokers

Now can anyone guess that elusive king of diamonds?

I just want to thank Andy Baker for the neat idea of giving out the cards in the first place. Rob and I came up with the signature idea on Thursday and spent all of Friday walking around the pits and stands looking for people. We even employed a few key people to get some important ones we didn't have access to (thanks D@ve and Amanda
). All in all it was an enjoyable experience. I got to meet a lot of great people, and even though Rob did most of the talking, I had a blast just taking it all in. There are still at least 15-20 more cards we didn't even post!
The cards are great mementos and I still have my deck blank and ready to go (by next year at Championships hopefully mine will be full too). See everyone at the off seasons competitions, and if someone walks up to you and asks you to sign one it's probably going to be me.

suneel112Yay, a full Euchre Hand (with Rezzy Technokats cards)!!! [not that i could do any better]
(Euchre is a game mostly played in Indiana, so if u don't know what it is, ur probably not from Indiana)
I want to sign the 2 of spades, since two is my favorite number, and because I am a worthless person
We should make some Indiana First Cards (normal set and a separate euchre set) [w/ 2 euchre sets coming in one pack] With cheezy pictures of all the people in Indiana First Teams for face cards.
i.e. David Kelley Ace of Clubs (The "rocket launcher" picture)
Amanda Morrison Queen of Hearts (The picture with David K which she hates)
Just get any goofy picture of anyone on Indiana First and put it on a card!
btw there should be a euchre tournament at IRI

Euchre is mainly a game in the northern Midwest and somewhat out East, but the cool thing is that usually the game is played slightly differently everywhere you go. I do know some people that have played it down South, and apparently it's totally different than the way it's more commonly played here. The game has changed according to each region its played in, which is pretty cool
22-04-2004 10:11
kmcclaryThat is such a COOL idea!
OK, now let's hear YOUR fantasy deck setup...
Assume for a sec you could get ANYONE's (or ANYTHING's) picture and/or signature. If YOU were to make up a deck, who/what should it include, and on which cards?
IMHO, the Aces might be:
Dean Kamen, Dr. Woody Flowers, Dave Lavery, and Director Bob Hammond. (IYO, is there anyone else more deserving, that I'm simply forgetting about?)
But then, WHO or WHAT do you honor after that?
Some candidate categories OTTOMH, for discussion:
- Top FIRST office people (those 12 or so very hard workers that make this possible for us)
- "CD Famous" folk
- Regional/Nat winning robots
- "Top Team" team photos (for whatever reason)
- Hall of Fame people (lifetime achievement)
- Chairman's Award winners (Team photos)
- Infamous Robots (by performance)
- Unusual Robots (by design - walkers, transformers, etc.)
What else? (Some people/groups/things may fall into multiple categories above)
Questions:
- Should the face cards be reserved for people and the number cards all be robots?
- Should there be a mix, with each suit a "category"?
So... Let's hear it. How would YOUR deck be set up, and who or what would be assigned to each card? (I'm just curious. There's no "right or wrong" here, so please don't criticize other's choices.)

euchre....
Its a game that is played in the midwest. And most people who don't live in the midwest but know of the game think it is only in retirement homes (which is not entirely false). But really, it is a fun game. I will be at IRI, and will teach anyone who wants to learn

I think euchre is the coolest game ever and everyone should learn euchre.
I remember last year when i used to play euchre everyday during lunch at school, it was great.
I would definitely be willing to teach/play anyone at IRI. I think that a euchre tournament would be awesome!!!
Btw the cards are great!!!

Rob and I started right when we got to the pits first thing Friday morning. We just spent the day walking the pits and going to matches. All of the kids on the team knew our robot up and down and they didn't need much help running system checks or fixing problems. Most of them were first year students and became very proficent rather quickly.
So since 45, 65, and 111 were right next to us we got Raul, Ken Patton, and Andy Baker to sign them right away. Mike Norton, Dr. Joe, Mr. Bill, and Al Skierkiewicz (he was inspecting) were all around the pit area. Basically if you continuously walk every row of pits for the whole day you will eventually see just about everyone. We saw Brian Beatty, Mike Martus, and Christopher Husmann in the pits, two mentors from RAGE on our way to watch a match, found Andy Grady in Curie, and corralled JVN, Chris C., Joel, and Karthik in 229's pit. Some people like Woody and Dave Lavery were out on the fields and we had to get some help in acquiring those. Other than that it's just having the time to wander the pits. It was a lot of fun hunting all these cool people down. Definitely one of my favorite FIRST experience.

You know there are still a few cards that remain unsigned. I was so busy on Saturday that I did not have the opportunity to fill out the entire deck. I will bring the deck to all summer competitions that 121 is attending. If you want to add your signature or just peruse the cards that would not fit in the photo, just find me. It would be an honor to have your signature on these cards, but they will fill up fast, there are only about 12 spots left!! See you all this summer!

I See Dean Kamen, Dave Lavery, Andy Baker, John V. Neun, Amanda Morrison, Ken Patton, Mr. Bill?, Liz, Calef, Kristen J. Kelso, Colleen Shaver?, Brandon Martus, David Ferriera, Joel Johnson, Paul D. Capioli, Rick Blight, Bria Beatty??, D.J. Fluck.
Some of you guys have good hand writing. Others well, you got hand writing similar to an MD. hehe j/k.
Question has probably been asked already but you printed all the cards with the FIRST Logo or just the Ace of Spades in which Dean signed his name upon!!??

The FIRST logo on the ace of spades looks a lot like a sticker to me.

The Aces of Spades came with the FIRST logo on it, so no, its not a sticker. All the decks come like that.

[quote=Kyle Fenton]If you looked closely at the cards you could see that all of the cards were scanned in and printed out, with the technocats logo on the back. There were minute artifacts that you can see that shows they were scanned in. The first symbol on the aces card seemed to have the most artifacts on it. [quote]
TechnoKat Clark Gilbert scanned each each one of these cards during the 2003 season and we printed out a bunch of these for give-aways. Clark did most of the work, and then Delphi's in-house printer took it from there.
