Aren't you NOT supposed to wear the flag?

Hey as long as it doesn't touch the ground
Nice outfit.

JohnBoucherRich, The parade was in Watertown CT. Hometown of Team 237.
Astronouth7303, You are correct that the wearing of the flag is not one of the approved uses of the flag. Please also note that having the flag on a US Postage stamp is also not an approved use and neither is the horizontal display prior to a football or baseball game approved. These and other examples can be seen here http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html

I didn't realize it applied to images/pictures! I just thought it was for an actual flag!

Wow..
Well, today I got an E-Mail from our team leader that they were talked to about the wearing of the flag in our parade by myself. Apparently Astronouth7303 was not the only person that caught my patriotic flaw.
But I doubt that they also know about the stamp rule, or some of the other flag code violations that were mentioned on the website in John's post (post #5 in this thread).
I never meant to offend anyone, it was just another way to show my patriotism for this country. I guess even in this sensitive but patriotic time, you have to do your homework before you try and do anything good.
I am kind of mad from these comments, but also see what points the people who were making the comments were trying to get at.
Anyways, to try and remedy this but also raise awareness of the correct uses of the flag and the image of the flag I plan on writing not only a public apology in our local newspaper. I plan on also mentioning that website and possibly also proposing that in the school system that the days before a patriotic holiday like Memorial Day, that the students study the history of the flag, the pledge, and also some details about the particular day. IE: For memorial day they could learn about what the day actually represents and was enacted for: The remembrance of people that helped to shape this country to the way it is today and the sacrafices that have been made to make this coutry great.
When I write this apology, I will copy it here in this thread on ChiefDelphi, for all to see.
