Why you DON'T drill around electronics

A metal shaving got in there and well... you can see that hole pretty well, as well as the scorch marks around it. This picture doesn't show that behind the burned H-bridge, the one behind it has a giant hole in it also, so the little inferno extended from both sides of the H-bridge. A lesson well learned.

Yeah, we totally had like a pound of aluminum shavings in all our speed controllers, luckily none of ours broke, heh. Lesson for today: Dont drill without covering your speed conrollers

That happened to my team too. It was a nice light show, since it happened at night out side. We even did it with Aluminum shavings too.

During the past week, I've more than once heard the sound of drilling from across the room and ran toward my electronics board with a blanket, yelling, "my babies!"
