Cool design Does your end pvc part rotate independent of the arm? What's the hinge on top for? Our design is a fairly similar idea. Looks great!

Looks like a spring-loaded door hinge to me. If you look carefully at the arm under the hinge there appear to be little hooks to hold the grabber-arm down. I'm guessing that the grabber-arm starts folded up to fit in the box, then depolys with the spring when the match starts. We talked about something like this but ended up not needing it.
