Here is our completed (well, we'll have some work to do on thursday) robot for 2005. Sorry about the low-res. Arm is 13 feet with three independtly controlled sections. No kit-parts, gear reductions similar to kit gearboxes (ours are lighter, different reduction). Massive worm gear based movement, so absolutely no backdriving. Grabber grabs top two segments of tetra face pneumatically, with a immobile hook at the bottem. Optical Mouse Navigation isn't currently functioning (sorry, guys) but may pan out at the competition. Camera not mounted (wish I had some time during build to program :-( )
See you at VCU!

Hopefully you will get your optical navigation to work, that sounds awesome.

pyroslevLooks pretty heavy. Do you have a weight problem?

phrontist
It weighs 117 pounds, so no weight problem really. We did have to cut a hell of a lot of speed holes though...
If optical doesn't pan out this year, I garuntee it next year.
