pakratwas this a student weld job? or done by machinist-type engineers? It looks very nice. And the age old question: How much does that part of it weigh??

Tytus Gerrish
what you see there weighed 14 pounds. it's 1/4" 6061 aluminum designed By Dan And I and cut with waterjet. it has tabs to line up all the pieces together. those had to be filed. and the holes witch the tubes went through had to be reamed. some pieces had to be filed to get them to fit just because of the waterjet flaring.it was Welded by Scott Macarthur, an engineer Mentor. the middle wheel holes were .2" lower than the outer ones but welding bowed the chassis and the ended up being about .375" lower.

ahhh but the swamp armor proved to be fatal one match. A tetra got wedged in it and they couldnt do anything about it. But of course tytus did a quick fix and they were good to go

That's great looking. The welds look really good and I know it isn't easy to do such a thing. I only wish we had a flojet. It can do some amazing work much faster than other machines could do it. Awesome!
