Duct tape, a pedigree dog food box, and a little 59 cent Aluminum foil and u got your self a vision sensor!
We probably could of afforded to build a better one but hey who doesn't like to use duct tape and a dog food box?

Hey, mine is even worse! I just taped the tubes together and propped it and the diffuser up in the corner...
One thing to watch is the fact that the color changes as the diffuser is moved towards / away from the tubes. Also, the thermal characteristics are probably different, which can also mess up the color (hot bulbs are brighter).

Mine is pretty bad too.
Check out the quality sheet metal job, the professional wire organization, and the custom fan grill.

Cactus_RoboticsYea well, I figured why spend the little money our team has to build a elaborate box that will just get shoved into a closet in about 10 weeks?...

robot180Sorry to be off-topic, but I couldn't help but notice the bottles of Mountain Dew in trhe background.
That is the sort-of-official drink of S.P.A.M. Do the dew!
So, back on topic, my team built a green light using those tubes that is about half way in between. While the software team was waiting for the light, we were trying to see if we could get the camera to work, so we put a green solid color on one of the computers. It showed up white with slight green edges. We tried a green shirt, but there was not enough light or something. I bet the green light will work much better.

Good thing someone else rigged up a light box as cheap as ours.
We built ours into the FIRST-2006 ELECTRONICS KIT box, with a couple of added fans to prevent the thing from catching on fire.
