Good eye ... Yes, it is heavy - 1/4" thick. But we cut a bunch away to help with the weight. With this years game "promoting" significant contact we are going for a strong base. And with the contact area clearly defined to remain below 8-1/2" we figure we don't need the strength above. Our topside will not weigh much. The low CG will also help us get up the ramp with minimal tipping concerns.
More pics to follow over the next week or two as we grow from newborn chassis to adult competition machine ...
