This is our intake roller, the c clamp you see on there is the first stage of our " Spherical Game Piece Partioning Mechanims. " Basically it forces the ball to go up either the left side or the right side, it works pretty well.
Enjoy

LightWaves1636pretty clever, so I take you guys aren't going to shoot for the high goal?

No, we had originally designed that we would shoot for the center goal. But due to our circumstances we weren't able. We had the lifter mechansim built , and shooter partially constructed. but were having some problems with it. We decided as a rookie team with limiting recources if we scored the 1 point balls and played solid defense we could be succesful.
That and along with being finished a week early having a good autonomous mode for the UCF regional, we felt we could be competitive.
We'll see if it was a wise choice or not competitivly, but for the rookie students I feel it was a good choice, allowing them to see a well built robot that performs its number one function correctly.

I saw the video of your robot and I must give my hats off to your team. I think your roller works beautifully and if you can do your job well, I think you have a potential advantage by specializing in one area. Moreover, having a good autonomous code will be especially beneficial to this game. It's better to be good in one thing than be mediocre in everything.
I look forward to seeing your team at UCF. Good Luck!
