Go to Post I'd say go out and kick their collective boo-tays...in a non-damaging, graciously professional manner, of course. (wink wink) - Billfred [more]

Team 522, McKee HS. and The Robo Wizards

Just a little box we threw together so our "girls" could travel to their competitions without getting any splinters.

I like this, does anyone have any specs on this and the amount of money needed?

How much? Very... Very much.

If you read this thread you'll see that people were pretty much flabergasted by the expense of this project. Apparently, the plate was donated by a sponsor.

For a rough estimate McMaster quotes a 48"x96" 1/8" thick plate as $532.... You need at least five of those...

i would be more worried about the weight cost than the material costs.

Ha, shouldve been there when we put it together.... oooohhhh fun times! lol

"lift this.." "WHAT?!?" "lift it.." "yeah sure... getting right on it..." *drops on foot* lol

and believe it or not.. we weighed it up against a few other plywood crates..

the box wasn't much heavier than u think. like.. 10-15 lbs.

dont judge a book by its cover.

think, all that doublin up on plywood, 2x4's to keep robot in place and reinforcement of walls adds up on the weight department

The Robowizards dont like to take chances when it regards one of their girls =D

after seeing way to many broken crates.. eh... thank god for diamond plate
