Team 612 at the team social at the 2006 NASA/VCU Regional. We spent at least 45 minutes staring at the pendulum, waiting for it to knock over a peg, while everyone else was stocking up on Krispy Kremes.
This is at the Science Museum of VA. The pendulum is supposed to show the rotation of the earth- it rotates 9.2 degrees per hour, or 219 per day. Their website (http://www.smv.org/info/foucaultex.htm) says that the pendulum knocks over a peg every 15 minutes. They lie.

I've been going to VCU for three years now and I LOVE that pendulum. It's amazing how people will sit their for minutes waiting for it to knock over blocks.

Foucault pendula are fun! Was this, by chance, at the Science Museum at the VCU Regional team social?

based on the position of the pendulum, it looks like that photo was taken on march 3rd, 2006!
