Dave is a hero, especially for us Astronomy and Aeronautical fans. =]
I love Dave, even without his trademark Hawaiian shirts and his "my other car is on mars" shirt!

Speaking of Dave, and some more Dave trivia, I was looking on ebay during my lunch time yesterday, and I was kinda bored, so I looked up names like Dean, and Woodie, and Dave. To my surprise, I found a CD of NASA interviews, and one of them was an interview of Dave about the Dante project.

That's the robot which went into the Volcano to explore it.

I thought that was kinda cool.

Just do a search for "Dave Lavery" on ebay, and you will find it.

Now I'm just wondering when they are gonna offer life-size cardboard cutouts of Dave, Dean, and Woodie for sale?
Collect the whole set! lol

For astronomy buffs, there are a number of FREE podcasts/videocasts available at the iTunes Music Store. A few of them are listed in this article.

There's a bunch of other free stuff that you can find there as well; some of it is even useful!

Do you think he'd get mad if I got all the teams to sign a Dave Lavery "That's Pimp" picture (one of Heidi's) for him?

FIRST is full of heroes and heroes in the making. When I first joined 116, five years ago, and then Chief Delphi, I was amazed by how many people idolized Dave. It didn't take me long to find out why Dave garners that much reverence or why he deserves it! He's a good person to have as a hero.

I don't think he will, Dave has a very impressive sense of humor. (but if he did, the only person he would be mad at would be me!) The only problem I could see you running up against is the low-resolution of the photos. The pimp images are all scavenged from the web and the size they are is the size they are. Our team had the grand scheme of making a life-sized Pimp Dave cardboard cut-out, and even had someone to print it for them for free... but I had warned them about the resolution from the start, and it proved to be the downfall of their devious plan.
