I had this idea not long after returning from the Lone Star Regional. It was spurred as a result of the most excellent idea of having a quick post event chairman's award debriefing at the regional. Tonya and Lucien tossed out the idea at the Chairman's award pre-meeting for the teams. They asked if any teams would be interested in a post event discussion immediately after the awards ceremony on Saturday.
That was a great experience for me, fellow mentors, and my chairmans team. FIRST of all we were just blown away at how well the students from Laredo, Texas articulated their program's strenghts. It started my gears
turning and then I decided to contact 476 and 922 to arrange a lunch in Atlanta so that all of our students could learn from each other in a very comfortable environment. That being outside under the trees eating lunch.

Tonya Scott 476Our team had a wonderful time! Thanks for arranging the lunch--the chicken was really good, and the company was wonderful!
I always enjoy the friendships we make in FIRST. Kids involved in many other programs miss out on the comradarie that FIRST kids get to enjoy and experience.
see you all soon
