Me reffing at BTB

Me early Saturday morning at Beantown Blitz. Note the tribute to Andy Baker and Stu Bloom on my head. Hopefully I'll be wearing it at Mayhem in Merrimack and BattleCry 7 too.

Isn't that incorrect use of electrical tape. If we can't use electrical tape as a decal you shouldn't either. LOL

I was always amazed at the amount of times we have been yelled at for incorrect use of electrical tape during robot inspection.

Examples we have been caught on:
Using it as a decal.
Using it to make a dark spot for use with photoeyes .
Holding wires together.
Shading reflectors for photoeyes.

Hey Foley,
I like the collar on your shirt. It's real classy.

I'd actually be interested to know if any other ref's out there have a preference for/ against the collared ref shirts, vs the jersey type ones like this.

I prefer the jersey ones. Tim, if you get a collared one at Mayhem in 2 weeks, you should see how a popped ref collar looks

Haha, yeah, I know.
But, finding a collared one to wear at Mayhem is now my mission. Plus, wearing your collar popped is probably how the refs at yachting competitions do it

Not that we had a choice in the matter (FVC ref shirts only come one way), but the collared shirts were pretty nice.

Andy, is that jealousy I smell in the air? Foley's hard hat does look pretty slick with the tape...

I'd advise you paint it, rather than electrical tape it. The tape is quick to make, but doesnt hold too well over time. I'll be painting mine at somepoint before Mayhem.
