What kind of wheels are those?

They look to be Colson wheels.

they look like colson caster wheels. You can get them from mcmaster and they have aout the same traction as the stock wheelchair wheels.

Ohhhh...niiiiice...
Or if you're a silly rookie team with no machining capabilities or extra money, you tap some large finishing nails into the hubs to lock them in place.

Rich,
You left out the nut on the inside of the cross brace didn't you? Now you can't get to it without removing one side and all the wheels. Well chalk it up to practice, in the Marines you would have to do it blindfolded and sleep with it for two nights.

That was the simple part Al. The real story goes something like this. From day one, we knew we were going to be a low goal only team as a rookie with few resources. Thus, it was a huge priority that we needed to also get up the ramp. Also from the beginning, we had a student designed chassis that mathematically was supposed to clear the ramp, barely. We decided on the Colson wheels, and had to wait almost two weeks on delivery. When we got the Colsons and strapped them on we pushed the chassis up the ramp and promptly bottomed out in THREE places. Ouch. Two chassis redesigns later it was the END of week three and we had what you see in the picture. We had another subgroup that had a prototype hopper. Problem. The hopper was designed to attach to our wonderful first chassis that failed and was long gone. So after we all celebrated that we finally had a chassis that would go up the ramp and we were all completely exhausted from all the extra effort, a few of us realized we had no clue how to integrate our ball system. So there I sat for most of the morning at the end of week three, contemplating...

Now, we all know that when Rich is work on it... Well, no good can come of that...

Here's a caption: "80/20 $2.5/ft, Wheels - $10 each, Registration - $6000, Watching an English teacher try to build a robot - Priceless"

Your team did well for it self this year. Next year you'll have the same look on your face but at least the kids will have some idea what they need to do.

Jason Morrella was an English teacher and he and his progeny have gone to fabulous feats, as it were, so don't count Rich out just yet.

To add to that, look at his raised heights of FIRST Stardom making it all the way to the GDC, come on Rich we all know you can play with dave, just look at your previous WAI, Dave made you hold the sign.

I still think Dawgma had an amazing bot this year, congrats to everyone on that team for overcoming so many obstacles.

Hopefully nobody is taking me wrong. I love Dogma and Rich is my friend. But as anyone who know Rich knows, he dishes it out pretty well. So it's fun to serve it back!

I'm so glad I took that picture... Can't wait until build season starts up again so I can take some more "priceless" Kressly pics.
