sanddragI know this is with good intentions, but there exists a very specific flag code and while I haven't read it personally, I can't possible believe the overlaying of numbers and words onto the flag would be permissable. It seems a bit wrong to me.

Are there penalties for violating the Flag Code? No. The Flag Code is intended as a guide to be followed on a purely voluntary basis to insure proper respect for the flag. |

If I remember correctly, which doesn't happen very often, didn't the government (congress or high courts) vote to allow flag defamation under free speech? Or maybe it was visa versa.
