This is a picture of our practice "half-rack". It's pretty much exactly the same but with braces on the back.

ggoldmanThe half rack does look good, but I am concerned about the dynamics of the spiders with only half of the mass.
The motion might be very different from the actual rack.
How does it move in comparison to full racks (maybe if you went to the kick-off in Manchester you could give some insight)?

esquaredI would have expected more people's heads to have asploded over the fact that the "stingers" aren't regulation length, AND they're curved forward.

this is also the same route we went. We built a half rack because that is all we could do given our space limitations.
It seems to be working ok, we haven't used a robot on it yet, but it looks like it is gonna hold up and I don't see how it would act different from the full thing, because the legs do not balence in the middle, they are supported from the middle and on the main shaft.
