no the 72' rule is for horizontal. robots can go as far up as they want vertically, the only limiting factor is the roof of the venue

I dont think this thing is used for a elevator sytem (too weak) but maybe the things that look like a plus sign are used for something else onm a robot and they mounted them to a long shaft to tease us all

They told its for a spine. They said there will be 4 cables (hence the plus shape) that control the location of the spine.
