Go to Post FIRST is aimed at those girls on your team. They don't know anything about mechanics, or electricity, or programming, or machining. They have no interest in it, either. They're perfect candidates for FIRST. - Madison [more]

781 robot lift

Our robot (missing its back panel) lifting two past robots. Basically our robot's side panels fall down, robots drive up (its a 9 degree 1 inch platform) and we lift the robots and ourselves 18 inches, allowing robots like Bruce C (pretty one) to be safe. A bit else about our robot: it has an arm that can score on all three levels quite quickly, does autonomous in 6-10 seconds then plays defense/gets ready to pick up next hoop.

What happens if you have a robot on only one side? Would you tip over?

the ramp on the right, the one with Bruce C looks like its on an angle, if a robot had its wheels on the ramp would it roll off?

nope... have made a design change to stop that, and allow the ability to lift just one robot

Does your robot move? Also how does another robot climb?

we lift both ourselves and either two robots or one (once we install our outrigger) using the large cim and a 144:1 gear reduction (this same motor is used for our arm with 12:1 gear reduction, we use a clutch to choose between the lift and the arm up/down). before lifting, there is a 1 inch platform for a robot to place themselves over... hope this answered your question
