Yes. There are two ICSP headers used to reprogram the master and user processor using a PIC programmer. There is also a port to monitor communication between the master and user processor.

Is it just a standard rs-232 that can be viewed through the terminal?

The people are IFI are really awesome. I worked with the MiniRC for a senior design project. Whenever we had a question that wasn't addressed by the manual, CD, or other communities that use IFI products, we contacted IFI support and they were always willing to help out. You'd be surprised at the capability of that little controller when you aren't limited by the game rules.

It is not rs232. It is TTL. You could use the converter for the camera. You could view it in a terminal but it would be a bunch of gibberish.
