Named "The Ring Wrangler mk.XIII" after its predecessor from 1997, here is a shot of the 2007 Bobcat without bumpers or side-panels.
The machine is 97% student built, as well as 95% student CADDed before being machined. The chasis is welded box aluminum which connects our two CNC'ed drive modules together. We are 6wd, using custom traction wheels and a center drop-down, powered by two Andy Mark gen 2 shifters and 4 small CIMs. The elevator stucture in the center was also CNCed by students using our school's 2-axis CNC, and extends upward only when we feel like it during matches, or when trying to score on the top row of the rack.
The whole thing weighed around 85lbs in New Jersey once we removed our ramps. We added parts of our Arbor Press while we were there in order to weigh in a little higher, but you can see the steel stock that we used at UTC and which will be on at Atlanta. We will have CADD drawings, spare wheels, and possibly a poly-carbonate drive module on display for anyone interested in the process and product of our drivetrain this year. Feel free to stop by our pit (on the left of Kamen/Flowers Lane when coming in) to check it out in Atlanta.
