Space Shuttle Endeavour rolled out tonight from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to launchpad 39A at 8:15 pm. It should make it to the pad at sunrise. Mary (spammybadame) and I went out to watch it; what an incredible site! This is Endeavour's first mission in over 4 years.

How did you get that close? I thought NASA woudn't let anyone near the shuttle because of the terror threat?

Awesome Picture!!! And with a FIRST shirt on, too.
I agree with Eldarion, how did you get that close to the shuttle?
That has got to be one of my most favorite shuttle pics ever.

For those of you who have attended the Chesapeake Regional, our head pit diva, Dr. Anne Spence (also the FLL partner and 2007 Volunteer of the year) has just been invited to watch the launch (marking the flight of a Mission Specialist and Educator Astronaut, Barbara Morgan) from the VIP section. She is very excited!
But it looks like Barry was closer!

Barry and Mary are both couselors for the space camp at the Kennedy Space Center (Dan's right). They both have a KSC badge that allows them to get that close to the shuttle.
