Tom BottiglieriI live 5 seconds down the street from this. I don't see how any part of the game could be associated with this.

i also live 5 seconds down the street from this, i disagree and i think this may have something to do with the game. whatever is in the point of view of the bearing that is given i think may have something to do with this game.

OptimizerI'd be concerned as to the accuracy of the web sites being employed. It might be important to get the location to within, say 10 feet.
Do any of you guys in the area have access to a good GPS receiver?
For all we know, the true spot could be at the Hancock Tower, or over by the statue of Copley (which could be meaningful).

I was just thinking, you know with how involved Google is getting with FIRST, maybe it is something in street view. Just a thought.

Since Google & FIRST are so close nowadays, I was almost expecting to pull up this co-ordinate on Google maps and have a blank square over the area saying something like "Do not look here till January, 5th 2008".

JazzfrombachHmm.... I think it either has something to do with a historical fact there, like something that may have happened at Copley Square, or maybe we are thinking too far into it. It could just be a Square year.

I figured I would throw that link in this discussion, as it shows an alternate view of the square without that huge shadow from Hancock.
And from that view, I believe this statement to be wrong:

From there, at the heading given, you can look through two obelisks at the Globe Cafe.

I just realized this, but the picture above was taken a long time ago! Street view is not available, and the Hybrid button was changed to the terrain button a couple of months ago. Why would this person want to take a screen shot that long ago for a game hint released this week?

RogerI went to Copley Square this morning to see what's there -- nothing but brick! And snow. And it was before sunrise and raining, so I didn't stay long.
In this picture by Elgin the three colored squares in the middle look like they are covering a circular fountain, but there was nothing.
There will be ice sculptures all over the park on New Years Eve (Boston's First Night celebration)
Maybe the name of the game is "Copley Squares"?

RogerSorry guys, I'm so last century... no GPS unit. I'm lucky I even have a cell phone. I was basing the location on the maps I've seen posted here. I might go back Monday if the weather is better and I go to work nearer to sunrise when you can actually see things.
Also, from my post here, Copley Square is tilted approximately 342.242026 degrees clockwise* from north, so the plaza in front of the church is squared with the third number in the second hint.
*Sorry, I had counterclockwise in the other post. I think I mean CW.
