wilmoIn the rules, you are not supposed to have a powered cart, but a lot of teams do.

RyanNWhere in the rules does it say you cannot have a powered cart? The only cart specifications I've seen is for it to fit through a 30" door and it cannot have any sound (like a stereo). And for safety measures, the cart cannot be used for transporting people. I have seen nothing about not being able to power it using motors.

AdamCThat looks like so much fun! You should make another and drag-race them. We do that with office-chairs.

Check the radio usage--you may need to tether the cart due to the "no radios in pits" rule.
Edit: on second look, I saw the tether cable being used. I foresee no rule violations unless someone forgets to use the tether.

gblakeNeither the Vex transmitter, nor the code in the Vex microcontroller have been been designed, developed or tested/certified "Safe for use in situations affecting human safety."
Don't do it.

nick1230nah, we've done worse. Talk about zip tying a chair to the top of our frame and using a tv remote and IR board to drive it around. That's fun and has an element of trust involved.
