Did you cut the shaft and re-thread it?

If so do you still get an appropriate preload when you toggle the cam? I would be worried about overloading an unthreaded length that long and causing plastic deformation.

FYI I am pro using bicycle parts on robots.

They make short ones and few spacers help. There isa very good grip as usual,we have not lost a battery in three years.

Thanks just curious because I hadn't seen them that short before, the preload thing has to do with a failure investigation I conducted last year though. One detail missed caused a big mess.
