No more joysticks for us this year, we took an old steering wheel and had our electronic team take it apart and reconstruct it. It's smooth and responsive and works like a charm.
It's got force feedback, LEDs, 4 buttons, and 1 Axis steering + brake & gas pedals
We plug it right into port 1 on the operator interface and besides hard coding an offset for calibration, it interacts with the code exactly like a joystick would.
Sorry for the bad picture quality, this was taken from a camera. I'll try to get a better picture early next week.

I think he means a cell phone camera. The pedals are on the back side of the steering wheel and operated by your fingers pulling a lever towards the steering wheel from the back.
