ThunderChickens have obviously moved south to evade the clutches of Karthik.

What a twist!

For a second, that possibility worried me.... imagine the ThunderChickens and Simbots collaborating; even Beatty might have trouble beating the result of that duo. But then, I checked Google maps and found out that Sterling Heights, MI is north of Dayton, OH. Now I'm just puzzled instead of scared.

HUNT397The explanation is easy. Currently team 397's trailer is not owned by team 397 it is owned by my family. I use our rolling billboard to move large objects and when ever I move. Think about it, does a national champion team really need to collaborate with another team to win? I know a few people who have been on that team in the past and it is forbidden to leak out any information until it gets the ok.

HUNT397I am suggesting that someone from their team might be using the trailer for something other than robotics.
Because the team might not own it, like my team does not.

I'm pretty sure that's Derek Bessette driving. I think he was heading to Michigan to drop off a couple of arms, and then Indiana to pick up frames.

Doesn't make sense, Karthik. This was on the NORTHbound side of a freeway in Ohio; Derek would need to be going SOUTH or WEST on a different freeway to pull off that maneuver (and wouldn't go into Ohio at all).
You don't scare me, other than the way 1114 normally does. |

If you knew about Derek's sense of direction this route would make perfect sense. He usually waits until the last minute to call OnStar.

Paul CopioliAlthough this is a really funny thread, I have to tell the truth.
The trailer was on its way back from Texas (Greenville) picking up parts that 148 made for us and dropping off parts that we made for 148, 254, and 968 (see Travis' picture posted on very familiar looking machined parts).
148 made parts for us and 254 / 968 so it was easier for us to just drop off the parts to 148. One of our parents was already going to the Dallas area with the trailer, so we decided to save on shipping
We own the trailer as it was donated last year to us by a few of our sponsors, but we lend it out to parents and other ThunderChicken supporters.
By the way, 217 would never collaborate with 1114 becasue they are crazy and they talk funny.

I don't believe that you are collaborating with both 254 and 968. Cory said that there is not a third team in their collaboration. And both teams have very good machining capabilities.

148, I might buy. But the paragraph about the trailer being lent out could indicate that a parent/supporter was at the wheel of the tow vehicle. |

ShotgunNinjaHey, are the Chickens going to go out of their way to come to the Wisconsin Regional? (AKA The Second Largest Competition This Year, Aside From Cincinatti, if I have my facts straight) That would just make the competition. You guys sound really cool.
PS: If you DO come, bring a shovel. Or a robot-mounted snowplow.

Racer26I know I'm reviving somewhat of a dead thread, but some of the speculation on collaborations of 217 based on the trailer's whereabouts is interesting, given that 1114-217-148 won championship, and they were all mentioned in here.
