excellent looking robot, can't wait till ic an see it run on youtube!

one quick question, do you have the ability to pick up from the front and back of the robot at any time? If so, does this give you a unique strategy?

We can only pick up from the front but can store it in the front or back. Our ball pickup method is to slam the arms on top of the ball. We did this so we could get balls that are on the move or are bouncing. We think the key to being a good hurdler is not in whether you can launch or use an arm, but how fast you can get a ball that is moving around and bouncing.

Nice looking bot guys!!! We thought the same way, its more and how you handle the ball then how well you can throw it, cause if you can't get the ball very fast, then throwing it isn't very fast ethier lol!

Looks solid though, I expect nothing less from the thunderchickens lol!!

Good luck!

Yeah, it's even a challenge for the students to grab the ball quickly when it's bouncing around. We have a "damper" above our gripping arms to try to get the ball under control before clamping it.

Look forward to seeing you in Atlanta...

Here it is. This is our hybrid video. The robot is operating completely autonomously in this video.
