1425 Anodized Wheel (Close-up)

No robot pics yet. For now, have a look at some awesome wheels. The plastic in the middle will be painted black tomorrow.

You mean they aren't going to be brilliant red!?

Thats somewhat of a pitty...

I also find it interesting that you have four keyways. Any reason why you decided to go with more than one?

They are actually, I badly mis-stated that. The plastic in the middle of the half wheel assembled on the other picture is going to be black.

Well, I think it was decided somewhere by the design team that more keyways = more better. Those things were a pain to file..

How do you still have your wheels? And painting them after the fix it window?

I'm a bit confused as to how this is legal, unless there is something about nonfunctional decorations.. I'm still a little lost as to how your still working on your bot.

We will not be painting our middle pieces until tonight when we take a fix-it window to finish the job. You are definitely right, these wheels were anodized during the season and we had to wait on the person to go out to get them back. We are closely observing the rules on working only in the fix-it windows.

Did you already ship a set of these in your crate?

sweet deal, good to hear, I was just confused I guess, they deffinately look awesome hope 1425 does great again this year. Your bot was awesome last year in vegas and galileo.

You guys shipped your bot without wheels? I can't imagine doing that, but I guess thats the price you pay for beauty.

The reason that Jeff is asking whether you shipped a set with the robot, is that the first fix-it window (i.e. during the week after shipping) is for spares and replacements only. If you didn't ship a set of similar wheels with the robot, then your wheels would be an upgrade, and only allowed during subsequent fix-it windows.

If that's the case, wait until next week to complete them.

I do believe we shipped them with the back up wheels on. Which are quite similar, minus the anodizing

Well, these have been in the works for years, so there were large smiles all around when they finally entered the shop. As well as some, "Those are AWESOME!" From our freshman.
