839 Chairmans Award winner in Boston

The following is the full text of the presentation speech given by Dr. Woodie Flowers.

“The Regional Chairman's Award was created to keep the central focus of the FIRST Robotics Competition on FIRST's ultimate goal of transforming our culture in ways that will inspire greater respect for science and technology, and to encourage more young people to appreciate the real life rewards and career opportunities in those fields.
The Regional Chairman's Award honors the team that, in the judges' estimation, best represents a model for other teams to emulate, and which embodies the goals and purpose of FIRST. It is the most prestigious award presented at this regional competition.
The winner of this award will be invited to the 2008 FIRST Championship in Atlanta, where it will compete against the winners from the other 40 regionals for the Chairman's Award.
Our Boston winner shows infectious enthusiasm that:
inspires future career choices in engineering, technology and science AND
attracts younger people to FIRST through summer camps and projects that are FUN.
Their outreach communications are exceptional and worthy of emulation by FRC teams everywhere.
This exceptionally well-organized team has a phenomenal knack for creating partnerships with those who can continue to move FIRST into OVERDRIVE.
Long, Long, Long, Long term planning and execution clearly deliver excellence.
Hip, Hip, HOORAY! Today's Rosie's Day!
The Boston Regional Chairman's Award Winner is Team # 839, G&L Tool/Hamilton Sundstrand/Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company/Rosie Boosters Inc./Berkshire Power and Agawam High School”
