Naw, basketball isn't nearly as great a sport as FRC. They play for the money. We play for honor, dignity, and respect. - synth3tk [more] |

FRC48 at NASA Glenn Research Center Open House
FRC Team 48 participating at the NASA Glenn Research Center Open House in Cleveland this past weekend. The FIRST demonstration area was inside the Center's main hangar, one of the centerpieces of the Open House experience for visitors. This was a pretty demanding demo pace. Sessions were held every 15-20 minutes from 11-7 both days, but it was well worth it to introduce FIRST robotics to so many newcomers. Dozens of busloads of visitors - including many kids, as you can see in the photo - were bussed into the Lewis Field campus. The smiles and "oooooh"'s were in abundance!
Jonndarr Bradshaw - "The Voice" of the Buckeye Regional and other notable FIRST events - was on hand to emcee the proceedings.
Several Cleveland TV stations covered the event, and our robot was featured as the backdrop for WKYC-3's live interview with a NASA employee during the station's Saturday morning news program.
While 48 was the only team to participate throughout both days, teams 1001, 1270, 1532, 1787, and 2399 also shared the stage equally during the demos. On Saturday, five of the teams had some fun with an impromptu Rube Goldberg demonstration for the crowd:
