The ÜberBots went to the Hartford Hospital to see da Vinci robots in the preseason! They are so cool! We were all thinking of things that would be so much easier to do if we used them while building the robot.

The daVinci system is really a very impressive piece of equipment. I have the privilege of working at Intuitive Surgical as an intern this summer, and it's even more amazing when you get to see the insides and all the technical details. Do any of the TechTigers know which model of the system they have there in Florida?

this past fall, our team was invited to go watch the Da Vinci robot in action. we were able to watch a live broadcast of it operating in the room next to us. we also had a microphone hookup to the surgeon operating. they took out a prostate. it was extremely kewl! instead of a giant whole that would take months for recovery, they did 4 15 mm holes. while being someone slimy and gross it was amazing!

What did you guys test the robot on; I can't identify it. We got to use this Who-ville looking training thing, it was pretty neat.

I love the da Vinci, seeing it in action is awesome..... my two worlds collide, nursing and robots. Now, just to get that job.....

I have been lucky enough to see the Da Vinci in action more then a few times during my ER rotations and just being allowed to watch somethings. It is amazing to watch and the results are a HUGE improvement over the conventional surgery preformed by those now useless humans

while I have only heard thing about this machine (great thing!) a teammate's dad is a sales rep for a manufacturing company that sells parts to intuitive. So my friend got to go in for a one on one tour and then they let him use it! I are jealous

My dad had his prostate removed by one of those! It's been really goofd for him because the surgery was less than a month ago and he's back doing everything he used to!!! He was out of the hospital the day after the surgery and he was back at work about a week and a half after surgery.

When I found out he had to get his prostate removed I started crying, but then he said it was a robotic surgery. He knew he could get me to laugh in times of sadness. This is one of the reasons I love robots so much, they can cause so much joy!!!
