New CNC Milling Center that will be home in the New Engineering Building at University of Wisconsin - Platteville that 171 will have full access to. [Still on the Pallet]

Sorry didn't want to post too many pictures on Chief Delphi and it was the least unpacked. That is on the opposite wall of the CNC Milling Machine

I am so jealous.

Our CNC is a manual bridgeport - converted hobby mill. It has a decent amount of slop and no encoders, so it is unable to machine circular circles. We are probably going to use it as a manual mill for most uses this year, but will CNC out non-precise contours and pocketing. This way we have accurate parts that still look nice and professional.

our school has some partnership with project lead the way, and we have gotten 2 cnc mills and 2 lathes!! and our team is able to use them all!

(just if we knew how)

I love our CNC mill too. It is a Bridgeport (don't know the exact model) but it has a acuright (SP?) computer on it. Wish I could post a picture but the facility we are in is a prototype facility. Darn GM rules...
