Team 254 CNC machined parts

Here's a shot of a custom fixture we designed and machined this year to speed up the manufacturing process for our bearing housings...

I believe he is referring to his bearing blocks for the drive system, if they are similar to what they had in the recent past.
We actually create something very similar now for our cantilevered drive system, inspired by being right next to them in the pits in 2007.

By chance, we have seen them in a tournament every year since our inception and made great use of our camera.

I love the layout, is it polished aluminum?

Nice clamp.
this is basically a giant jig so that they can machine 10 parts at the same time, rudimentary cnc machining stuff. saves a lot of time setting up, zeroing in, and running individual parts, it only requires running off a special clamping jig before hand, not a big deal if you are doing 70+ of these things. even so, they would probably have to make a set of soft jaws for these parts anyways. I am also assuming they have a jig for the flip side as well.

It's precision ground aluminum.

you guys should post youtube videos of your parts being machined, showing details on how all the fixtures work for CNC and such. All those fun tips.

Or even better just post CADs for everything you make...including the fixtures ;") haha.
