Go to Post FRC isn't for every school; it takes a lot of drive just to fundraise every year. It is a premium program that requires a premium about of effort to sustain and be successful. And man is it fun to do. - JesseK [more]

You could mount the compressor somewhere where its vibrative properties will shake what ever you are hoping to shake.

Looks a lot like a certain very successful bot from '06...

Since it looks like you're only going to be getting balls via the human player, why did you make the top basket so small? Unless the whole assembly rotates, at which point it would have to stay inside the robot footprint...

In any event, with a basket such as that being so small, I don't really see the need for an agitator.

Good luck at your events!

I was actually thinking about a ball agitator for our hopper earlier. My plan was to take an rs-385 motor, stick a piece of (smooth) metal with a hole drilled off center and make a vibrator like they do in cell phones.

Just Google cell phone vibration motor and you'll know what I'm talking about.

p.s. Nice robot! Is there a reason you didn't make your hopper bigger?

our human player is pretty amazing and can hit the hopper from 25ft plus so that is not the problem.

Just beware. It'd be awful if they miss the hopper and land in your trailer.

well we have solved our agitator problem, one of our promising sophmores, (who will probably be in charge of our pit) came up with an epic solution.

(ROLLINTDOLLIN) Yeah, the whole top assembly... the shooter, hopper, and feed tube all rotate on a turret. So yes, that is why our hopper is so small, but it works just fine.

we will post a video once we have it running (we missed our practice day because a pot burned) but as of now we only way 80.1 lbs so now we wiegh down the area above the trailer hitch with 39.8 lbs. to increase our turing capabilities as well as traction.

we found 4 wheel tank drive works really well when all your weight is above the trailer hitch.

A random questionnaire of FIRST teams show approximately 100% of all FIRST teams currently have human players who can do this...

Video footage from the Suffield Shakedown shows otherwise.

Caveat Emptor, if your human player can hit the hopper 25ft away with a high percentage, you should consider a strategy where you do nothing but collect moonrocks and feed them to your human player.

I know we are.
