Interesting idea. A pneumatic Mecanum Wheel. Adjust traction and ride smoothness by using a simple bicycle or ball pump. This may be a more feasible idea than we're giving credit...

I wonder what it'd take to get a VEX proof of concept.

Render the model in Inventor first (steal Andymark's), skip photo-shopping and you'll get a much prettier high-res photo. This is an amazing idea, kudos!
